I was accused of plagerism 3 times on big projects in school because “there is no way you wrote this level of work”. The first time I only “got a way with it” because as he read more the teacher realized that these werent paragraphs but instead multiline run on sentences.

Once I got better at that though I actually failed those classes because they could believe it (made up for them quick no sweat off my back now). I really felt like “damn thanks but please can I just keep a passing grade instead”.

    “Well bless your heart.”

Granted, if you use that phrase regularly / come from a dialect where that’s common, you’ll probably understand that that’s an insult, but if you don’t, you very well may think its a genuine compliment.

    “You’re so quiet.”

Yeah I learned to be okay with silence and I don’t need to constantly run my mouth to drown out the horrors inside my own mind.

Counter-Strike 1.6 days, getting kicked for using an aimbot when you’re not using an aimbot.

I posted my first win of Enter the Gungeon on the relevant subreddit and it people were convinced I was cheating/lying because I had low max hp (meaning I didn’t flawless victory the minibosses) and I was given a warning and the post was deleted by the mods.

Extra one: I used to have to walk past a clinical trial facility that would commonly have people stay for 2 weeks or so to be monitored while they were part of the trial. You weren’t allowed to smoke but people would always be out in their little yard asking for cigarettes. As I was turning the corner one day there were three guys watching for someone to bum one off of and one saw me and said, “Aww fuck he looks healthy as HELL!” Not really an insult but was said in legitimate anger and I am still riding that compliment.

Respect for the Enter the Gungeon run, it doesn’t sound crazy to me since I never became consistent with not getting hit on level 1 bosses. Also getting a medical tent in a run, buying some hearts and getting drops is enough to maintain the health often.

It really wasn’t that hard. I had the upgraded Ser Junken that can revive you and the turtle pet I believe? I was using the chicken gun and was able to just blast through the dragon.

you eat like a horse. yea the steroids thing is wierd, some people take offense to it, even if they are on it or trying to downplay it, never heard of using it as a complement. i never heard of a natural person ever uses it as a complement.

Being called “sweaty” or a “try-hard” in online games. Like, I’m sorry; I love this game so I play it a lot and got pretty good! It’s especially funny when they say that in a game with optional PvP multiplayer like a Souls-like or something…
