I find it pointless. We need to think about real sustainable progress in space but you just have to look at the earth to see how we are about sustainability. I firmly believe we have to work on sourcing space resources from space and that is what we should be most workin on. I mean if you look at it reusable rockets are the most impactful thing to happen to our space endeavours in this millenium and it was due to doing one thing. Being more sustainable.

oh yeah but im more thinking having a family and covering all medical costs. One of my biggest problems is im single income with a sick spouse and our country simply does not effectively work for that anymore but its simply a scenario that is always going to exist so either our social safety nets need to get waaaaayyyyyyyyy better or we need to pay waaaaayyyy higher.

im a piers anthony fan and these books won’t necessarily help with pop culture but he is very prolific and I feel he has some stand out work. First his geooddysey series to me is his best work but likely not recognized as so. The incarnations of immortality I would take second but is likely more generally viewed as his best and I would agree it was before geoodyseey, kirilian quest is really neat along with many of his other earlier series. His most prolific and possibly well known is xanth. One thing is over time its leaned into its main thing which is puns and is very light hearted and fanciful. If you read from the start its a bit more serious but I think he did not intend to go beyond a trilogy. Its like ti was a trilogy and then a trilogy of trilogies and now the series number in the 40’s or something. I have not read them all. Another stand out is split infinity which is both fantasy and scifi. In short geodessey is a story or realy series of stories across time. incarnations is a world where magic is just another force of nature and magic and technology grew up together, kirilian quest is an intergalactic story where the speed of light cannot be exceeded by physical means, I think I explained xanth enough already.

I just never though of it like this. When I talked with people saying male/female or man/women or dude/gal was kinda all the same. Sorta just depended on setting from clinical to casual. All the cultural things were sorta stuff just lopped on top. Its meaning kinda dependent on the individuals with some folks seeing them as some sort of law of nature and others as tendencies. I find the higher denisity the place one lives the less one is likely to go the law of nature route.

I mean in scifi someone in a time loop remembers the period and thus knows they are in one. If you don’t know you are not in one or at least not in one of your own.

In any major city in the us its kinda hard to get by with 5 figures nowadays and impossible in the worst cost of living ones. I know that I have to make something like 90k to be in the black in order to have enough after taxes.

with a few exceptions reality tv is so bad. I don’t see the appeal except for a few (alone, ice road truckers) and even those it annoys me when they try to make the false drama.

I think the main thing with shitposting is that its a post. like I tend to be sarcastic when responding to something I find absurd to begin with. Shitposting it like trying to start something from the get go.

See I don’t feel gender is bs but I think I may get what you mean. To me gender is just another term for anotomical sex or such and sorta bridges to nicety titles like mr or mrs. I assume you mean the idea of women being like x and men being like y which is really just stereotypes. I mean I don’t think sterotypes exist for no reason. My peoples are known for drinking and if you go to a wedding or funeral for my family there will be nothing to make that stereotype less valid. But I don’t drink much at all. So little it is going to be at a minimum months apart and more often than not years apart. Likely have one within a decade. My wife and I buy something and have it years later. Its kinda funny when the doc asks if I drink because its like yeah but by most peoples standards no. Then still many cultures are known for drinking and those that are not still drink a lot on all sorts of occasions.

I moved to linux but if there are any folks still foolish enough to be on windows then portable apps is huge. Get a new machine and just move the folder over and your good to go. I really with either appman could get a gui going like it or a gui project for appimages would use appman as a repo base.

thoughout my life I have a tendency towards sarcasm and devils advocate. Certainly less so now because devils advocate is about putting more effort toward understanding which is sorta tiresome to me at this point. sarcasm is just a way to handle much of our absurd reality although ironically the more absurd it gets the harder it is to be sarcastic.

Yeah I think there is just an understanding thing that is harder. I can barely parse this but I see a lot about ones body but then there is this general modern take that gender and sex are different that just was not the case for folk like me growing up. But if they are different and its about ones body then its about sex no? Is it the physical being or the social norms? If its the physical being then what does it mean as a thought experiment if someone was in the same condition with the technolog of a thousand years ago but the advanced socially beyoned today. Is it a medical thing that needs treatment or is a something one can come to terms with without altering themselves? Is it a medical condition or a personal choice. Granted these alternatives are not as easy as they appear. The idea of nature vs nuture is a debate as old as time.

yeah its all kind of silly to my wife and I. I mean we sound non binary by the one persons thing of it but like gender roles have pretty much been thrown off after the hippie era in modern societies. I feel like making all these little boxes is like tacit approval of gender roles in general. Like it feels like a step backwards. Not liking guns or cars does not make a dude less of a man and not liking dresses or dolls does not make some gal less of a woman. They can be what they want. I feel like its all a kind of labeling.

my sisters actually do have excersise induced but I tried to get it checked out at one point and it just kinda fell off the radar. Partially because im fine not jogging. I like walking and biking. I sorta hate excersie just to excersise and like to have it come while doing other things. I really wanted a row bike at one point and was kinda bummed it fell apart as a thing.

this is exactly why I don’t do it. I can walk at a pace that is almost faster than I can jog foever but the moment I start having both feet off the ground at once I can’t breathe. I kinda have the same problem with swimming a front crawl. I just can’t get the cadence right and end up inhaling water. I do believe the key may be in your breathing rythm vs your physical movements based on my own ineptness. Take that for what you will.

absolutely not. I have been out of work for close to two years. I feel unvalued. I feel like my education and experience is unvalued. I feel my society is saying. You should not contribute. We don’t want it. I feel its saying we do everything in a super automated low effort way but you should distinguish yourself but doing a bunch of manual things to make up for anything our automated systems does not do properly which is kinda everything. You should work very hard to prove your work should be compensated.
