I was looking for a mention of The Powder Mage. I’ve recommended that series to a handful of friends and they’ve all really enjoyed it. A rare 100% approval response.

I read the first book because I’d heard praise for it. It was either during that one, or the next book what I thought:
…fucking hell. I’m reading a retelling of fucking Harry Potter!

Factually, sure, but emotionally, not even close.

That’s over a few years time. Maybe a little more aggressive than average.

I hang my stuff inside out to try to cut down on sun fading. I’ve never really given a thought to which way it goes into the washer.

I would expect that it wasn’t a nuke, and I would wonder what blew up.

Don’t you follow and obey Orange Jesus?

I was talking to a friend years ago and I mentioned this same thing. I tried and couldn’t imagine feeling relaxed even if I won the lotto or something. We were wondering how long it would take to relax, if ever.
I think most people feel that way.

“We don’t have enough personal data points from fediverse users to track consumer data points”
“…I know. I’ll just ask them to give me their personal info. Trust me, this always works.”
“No way. They care about their anonymity, it’s the reason a lot of them are there.”

Glad to read that it’s not just me.

Yeah, should have been “Trust us…or not. Doesn’t matter, we’ll do what we want regardless.”

I loved tripping in college and as a young adult. I grew up, friends changed…and now I find myself a few decades down the line thinking I just want to drop a little and I have no contacts anymore. So frustrating.

I drove OTR a couple decades ago. I knew several drivers that had regular stops across the country. If he was hanging around for 2 weeks, and not just a few days waiting to catch up with his log, he’s probably not having another big thing going. Just the normal.

Religion. Even when I’ve taken the time to look up the difference is between a Catholic and a Christian, or a Shia and a Sunni, it seems like within minutes at most, that knowledge just sublimates.

That is a pretty great tutorial. I mean, sure, there are easier ways, but not with the same quality. Bookmarked. Thanks for posting.

Nothing would change.
Seems like most of the big ones were mentioned. The glaring omission is The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Read the first one, and you’ll find yourself finishing the story.
