I still listen to FM radio and, if you’ll please pardon me tooting my own horn, I also help make some of it as part of a long-running weekly talk show. (I’ve been off the air for the past couple weeks, but I’m back next week.)
I was a listener to the station and the program for a long time before I joined up. I still listen to radio often, and the medium continues to mean a great deal to me.

I like to put my pocket into my pocket and watch things get real weird.
Gumby and his friends can walk into any book and play in that book’s world, so choosing that fictional universe basically gives you access to all of the fictional universes. The only big trade-off is you and everyone else are ugly as shit.
This method is surprisingly effective at bringing back our god damn honey. We may not have to kill Nicolas Cage after all.
That’s not strictly a scifi thing, it was a prevailing real-world military custom for a long time to address all military superiors as “sir” regardless of gender. These days the thinking varies, and as women have been integrating into the military for many generations now in more and more places women officers may be addressed as “ma’am.”
Some people who aren’t men have a negative reaction to being addressed as “dude” or “guy” nowadays. There’s been a lot of writing about it online by women and non-binary folks, and some people in my life IRL have expressed that feeling as well.
“Guy” and “dude” had been all-encompassing gender-neutral terms in my head for ages (I grew up in the 1980s-1990s when we were all dudes) but I’ve been making an effort to switch away from using them that way because I like my speech patterns to be kind by default.
My favorite bleak song is “We’re All Made Of Stars” by Spray. It’s a peppy catchy danceable synthpop tune about how little we matter, and I delight in it.

Not having to worry about all the horrors one is subjected to when they depend on a free service for online presence, email, etc. is worth a great deal to me. Any free service can disappear or kick you off at a whim leaving you with nothing, social media sites and apps come and go (and/or enshittify) while as a consumer of a paid service you not only have a quality of service beyond freebies (privacy, no ads, what I want to put online is exactly what goes online unadulterated, people who want to find or contact me can always do so at my own site on my own terms) you also have consumer protections if things go wrong.
While I’m not self-hosting my web stuff on my own hardware, the host I use is a small business owned by an old friend and fellow hacker which means I’m not at the mercy of some faceless corporation’s TOS either. My host and I see eye-to-eye on what’s appropriate for me to put out there via her machinery, and she’s also not extrajudicially sharing my private crap with fascist government forces like the big tech monoliths and most free services do.

Which is why so many emulators require you to somehow acquire the console’s actual BIOS binary yourself (by manually dumping it from your own hardware, of course, and by no other means at all) and drop it into a file folder for the emulator to use.
