  • My car radio is tuned to the 80s/90s station. When I start my car if a song is playing, I’ll listen. If an ad comes on, I’ll mute it, and usually forget to unmute it again. Sometimes I hear two or three songs in a row before an ad. Sometimes I remember to unmute it, and maybe hear another song.

I could make an effort to have music in the car, but I don’t care that much about it. I’m okay with silence.

  • I’m at 21 users blocked. Seven of them have also been banned, apparently since I blocked them.

I have no doubt I appear on some users’ block lists too.

I’ve blocked many more communities. Mostly foreign language, plus subjects I have zero interest in, like guns or baking. I’ve blocked a few new communities simply for spamming posts when they start, which is annoying. New mods should be aware of this, don’t spam a bunch of posts when you start just to fill the front page, go slowly, wait a quarter or half an hour between posts. Or, maybe that’s just me.

  • I don’t do anything on my phone that I need to hide. I barely use it, and it’s used for mundane things. I don’t have any apps installed, I don’t do banking on it, or shop on it, or use it to pay for anything. I don’t use it for email. My phone doesn’t know very much about me, and that’s how I like it. I also don’t have face unlock set up, I enter my pin every time I use it.

Yes, I know it can track my location, and I know they consolidate everything known about me across all of my accounts, and where I shop and what I buy, etc, but putting the phone in lockdown won’t change that. So, yeah, they know a lot about me, I can’t help that, no one really can, unless they’re born off the grid and live in a cabin somewhere–which sounds pretty good, until you need help.

  • In my desktop browser I have about sixty between my quick dial, and the menu bar.

I visit about 10 of them every day, and I visit most of them at some point during the week. I have folders on the menu bar for long-term storage, but individual bookmarks on the menu bar are short-term, ones I’ll want for a few days or weeks but know I’ll get rid of when they’ve served their purpose. But, now that I look at it, some of the individual…

You know what? It all makes sense to me, I know where everything is, and I’m happy.
