Okay.
See here’s the thing:
You have to remember:
- BIOS password (you’re supposed to set one, right? I mean… so your that sibling/roomate/kids/family doesnt mess around and replace your OS with a malicious OS)
- Full Disk Encryption password and then finally
- The user password
Like that kinds breaks my brain
Do y’all just put those in your password manager… then only have to remember
- Master Password to password vault and
- Phone lockscreen
Is this the “Standard Operating Procedure”?
But if you are paranoid and set a full alphanumeric password/passphrase… then you have to remember two differen passphrases…
Or couldn’t you just simplify it to like just ONE, like:
Can you have the same password for Phone Lockscreen as the Password Vault Master Password?
So that you Only ever need to remember exactly ONE password
Is this a good idea?
My head hurts from this…
Idk how to do this…
I wanna simplify my digital stuff… my stuff is so disorganized…

It really depends what threat you’re trying to guard against. For instance, I do use a password manager plus 2FA for all my online accounts, but I unlock both my computer and my phone with biometrics. That’s good enough for me because I’m a fairly well-off cis het white man in a relatively safe and civilised country, I’m not likely to be persecuted/hurt/arrested/killed just for existing,. so really all I’m guarding against in securing my technology is crooks, and biometrics plus a password manager and 2FA is easily good enough to guard against them. If on the other hand you’re in a dangerous country (Russia, United States, etc), or you’re a member of a group that is typically at risk from government authorities (e.g. you’re black, gay, trans etc) then your threat model is likely different.
Curious, do you disable biometrics when you sleep?
I make sure to disabke biometrics (triggering the power menu in iOS or using “Lockdown” in power menu on Android, these disable biometrics) before I go to sleep…
Don’t want someone to try to unlock my phone while I sleep lmao. (I live with family)
I mean I sometimes reboot it so its in BFU mode as well…
