I see it on piefed, but not on peertube:

That would be a killer feature. Likes from other platforms and people have the option to push it through to the fediverse link/post/etc…

AH! Yes. If I open that privately, I don’t see the likes. I wonder if that’s on purpose?

I’m asking in the Peertube matrix. That seems wrong.

Ive found that views and likes are not propagated over to servers. At least my tiny one. I looked in the logs just now.

But if you go to the piefed post directly like so: https://piefed.social/c/fsfclips/p/1555626/like-and-subscribe

You can see the likes over there. And they do end up federated if someone likes that specific link. But sometimes I notice it doesn’t go though. Like in this case. I have no idea what causes it. Versioning of the api? Its probably not piefed.

It might not be worth the time fixing but it would make creators want to make more things for the fediverse. Or at least know their content is being liked from somewhere.

Oh I agree. I think if we’re saying it can all interact and interconnect, basic metrics like that are the one way we can SHOW that’s true. Open a Peertube and Piefed bug! Let’s get them talking. :) A lot of devs don’t have a clue these things aren’t working, unless someone mentions it to them. And if there’s a reason it’s not working, the more people that ask about it, the higher in the priority list it goes. :)
