Corporal Punishment Sucks.
Definitely. It’s why I only milk bulls.

My head hurts.

If there’s a legitimate health and safety concern, I’m not saying a parent can’t say no, but a parent telling a kid their expression has to be limited by their parents’ own biases is too far. So… no playing tag on the freeway, but a parent shouldn’t be able to tell a kid to expeess themselves in ways they don’t want to or follow a religion they don’t want to follow.
In the US when I was growing up, some kids got kicked out of their homes for being queer or for not being “Christian” enough. This is what comes to mind.

Agreed.

Everyone (including kids and teens) should have full bodily autonomy. This includes how they express gender. Parents should not be allowed to circumcise/mutilate their kids’ genitals for reasons that aren’t medically necessary, nor should they be allowed to lay their hands on their kids in a violent way (and yes, that includes “only” spanking). Parents who hit/spank their kids should be charged with assault and child abuse.
Kids and teens having basic rights might not be controversial here, but in the rural area that I’m from, it certainly is.

How to say you’re from Vermont without saying you’re from Vermont. 😁

She’s a moog pioneer. And she collaborated with Al in '88.
A lot of people don’t know that Al was on a Brian Wilson track in the early 1990s, “Let’s Stick Together” (it later became “The Waltz”).

His stuff from the mid '70s is rough, but it’s still pretty funny.

There have only been 4 artists to have a Top 40 single in each of the last 4 decades ('80s, '90s, '00s, and '10s).
(In that order.)

I wish that album were still in print. You can easily “acquire” a digital copy, but it would be nice to own the physical record.
A great collab with Wendy Carlos.

Honestly, I sometimes even rock out to “Belvidere Crusin’” (1976).

Pretty much everything “Weird Al” Yankovic and his band have ever done.
They’ve gained more recognition in recent years, but most people don’t realize that his catalogue goes back to the mid-1970s. A lot of people are sleeping on his work, even today, because he’s categorized as a “novelty artist”.
The early stuff is rough, but from the mid-1980s on up is worth a listen even if you’re not a fan.

In the US, if my memory serves me correctly, that coveted title of “Most likely to be DUI” belongs to Dodge Ram drivers.
If it turned out to be BMWs, though, I wouldn’t exactly be surprised. 😁

Nope! I read correctly. I just wanted an excuse to talk up Weird Al, honestly. 😁

A big hero of mine is/was “Weird Al” Yankovic. I feel like out of all celebrities that exist, he’s the one that I probably don’t have to worry about turning out to be a horrible person.

License at 16, drove for the first time at 11 (on private property).
Metric. I’ve had my phone set up to display the temperature in Celsius for the last ~8 years so that I can get a sense of it without doing math all the time.
