Damn that sucks. But also every TV still allows you to just plug in a laptop over hdmi right? Just bypass all their shit.

Pihole can solve that for you :)
Or just not using shitty locked down devices like that.

Hmm somehow i havent ever gotten those kinds of ads… maybe because im using ublock? Must be something else, i am just the chosen one.

A lot (most) of it depends on the desktop environment you use. If you look for idle RAM usage compared by desktop environment you will see how drastic it is.
This kinda thing https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/linux-des-resource-usage-compared/70060

What? I think you dont understand at all how this works. The database of any password manager is an encrypted file. When you open your password manager and type in the master password it opens that file and decrypts its contents for you and only saves them to memory. It doesnt actually decrypt the file on the drive. When you close the application it doesnt need to be encrypted again. This is exatly the same for all password managers, the only difference is that with web based ones the database file sits on bitwardens server instead of on your harddrive. You are just changing the location of the database, nothing else. Keepass also automatically saves a backup version of the database to a location you can specify and even if you dont you still have better redundancy than with bitwarden because the file sits both in your cloud storage and on each of your devices.

Everyone has some kind of cloud service tho no? The database is encrypted so you can even sync it over googles cloud storage if you dont have nextcloud or syncthing.

People were autoregistered for threads if they already had an account for instagram or facebook iirc. It also auto reposts stuff between those services unless you turn it off i think. They just forcefully injected content from their other platforms to kickstart it.

It doesnt look/sound like you are using solar panels with it, but thats like the main reason to buy one of these. Currently you are just slowly degrading the battery while getting zero benefit out of it unless you have power outages ever day. Would make more sense to just charge it and let it sit unused until there is an outage, otherwise you actually use more power than you would without it due to conversion losses.

Ah yeah i didnt think of that, my bad i guess thats not obvious coming from normal map apps. Yes its intended to be completely offline capable for privacy and so you can go hiking in the middle of nowhere.

Are you sure you are using the app that i linked to? Because you can clearly see in the screenshots on the app store that it has turn by turn instructions.
Comaps is a fork of organic maps but neither has ads and they are basically identical feature wise.
Turn by turn only works when you have location turned on of course.

I dont use apple devices so i cant test it, but i thought it would be identical to the android experience.

It very much has routing, route saving, turn by turn instructions, voice instructions and more. Idk what you mean.

Yep it uses a selection of the most important data from OSM because the entire thing would be too huge to keep on your phone. You download the map in sections so region/city based but you can also just get an entire country which will be a few GB.
It can import/export bookmarks and record and import gpx tracks. Has TTS support and you can even edit things (like opening hours and stuff) if you have an OSM account.

Comaps is available for iphones :3

Starting March 27, low-level offenses like riding against traffic or disobeying a stop sign will be handled with civil summonses similar to how drivers are ticketed, instead of criminal charges that require a court appearance.
The move rolls back a crackdown under the previous administration that led to a sharp increase in criminal summonses for cyclists.
Absolutely insane idea to punish cyclists harder than carbrains for the same thing. Good thing it was reversed.

And self driving cars

Well they dont lol, they are super flimsy these days and most stuff is soldered on. Its good if this turns out to be the start of the return to good thinkpads, but i wouldnt get my hopes up yet.

Thats nonsense, there are plenty of phones and tablets with usbc video output. Its been a feature for like a decade. Other companies have had working desktop modes for a long time and google just abandoned their work on it until they decided they could use it as a marketing feature. They probably just didnt want the pixel to cut into the chromebook marketshare.
It also wasnt even really a bright spot because it was being actively used as a propaganda story for Trump.
