It probably depends on what you do, but 16GB is still able to do everything I personally need from my computer. I wish I had more VRAM though, 12GB is getting a little short for some AAA releases (fortunately I rarely play AAA games)

My take : Prices got you down ? Keep the hardware you already have ! No one else can upgrade anyway, games requirements aren’t going up anytime soon.

Obviously that doesn’t cover you if you don’t already have a machine, in which case I would go DDR3.

But for those who do, does anyone upgrade anymore ? I’m on 2019 hardware and everything runs perfectly good. Oftentimes great !

How would an intruder ever know the difference ? Just set up a defective camera that you can get for a fraction of the price of a working one.

There is absolutely no way to tell whether the camera actually works or not. It does the same “scarecrow” job a real one would, but doesn’t need any of the infrastructure or upkeep.

Neither ! I use Obtainium, which allows you to get apps directly from the source, with the convenience of a normal app store for updating !

I usually look for apps on droid-ify, which is an alternative front end to f-droid, then whenever possible I copy the link of the source repo and install via Obtainium ; when I can’t I install the f-droid version via Obtainium as well (as a result, I have 0 apps installed by droid-ify, I only use it for search)

When I need an App Store exclusive app, I install it via Aurora Store (which downloads apps via shared anonymous accounts)

The only thing this system can’t get around is paid apps from the App Store. I have exactly one : Cookie Clicker. (I like the game in general so I paid to support the dev)
