Stuff for classroom walls

If you want to make a big poster by printing smaller sheets of printer paper, all the first page of Google results is sites that let you upload your image and then make you sign up for an account. So here’s https://bigspread.niy.ai/ instead

One thing I don’t think has got enough attention is the fact that it does a fetch from Truth Social as well, which means Trump personally gets at least some indirect data on the app’s users on a server that isn’t even slightly controlled or contracted by the government.

Remember CDs? Actually owning stuff?

I went back to Winamp last year and don’t regret it at all.

The irony is that I typed JIRA in lowercase and my phone autocorrected it to JIRA

I’m amazed they had 1600 employees to begin with. I guess it takes a lot of resources to make something suck as hard as JIRA

Literally my entire point was that people are offering some strong opinions without having read the complaint, and here you are demonstrating exactly that.

As a general rule of thumb if something sounds stupid then it’s probably been reported badly with some key information missing. I’m betting the music industry press reporting will be very different from that of a site called “gamesindustry.biz”.

My suggestion is that probably their lawyers have examined the case in rather more detail than the armchair lawyers on here pontificating based on an eight-sentence summary. Incidentally, PRS are a 175,000-member artists’ rights collective that very often represent a significant portion of individual artists’ incomes, they’re not some sort of grubby billionaire-owned patent troll.

For the benefit of those here suggesting this is a spurious or vexatious lawsuit: in the UK, it’s standard for a plaintiff to be forced to pay all the respondent’s legal fees if they lose.

Newish account to promote loops
Probably, but it seems to be an open-source fediverse community project with no VC backing, so I don’t begrudge them it. Like, how else do you get fediverse projects seen if not in a fediverse discussion community, you want them to just buy Google ads instead?

It’s extremely unhealthy for a free society, to have too much power imbalance between the ruling classes and the people.
There’s lots of cryptographic type approaches where the entity validating you is air-gapped from the entity certifying your age.
But if you don’t trust them it’s not hard to figure out a scratchcard system where for, say, £1 cash your local newsagent checks your ID and lets you pick a card that you scratch off to get a code that you can then use to obtain a cryptographic token online signed by a recognized CA. Neither the newsagent nor the card issuer have any way of tying you to that code, and if you don’t like the idea of using the same token on multiple sites you can always buy more. Of course you’d also have the option of obtaining codes online, but there’s something I think people would find reassuring about the existence of a visible physical gap.
There’s plenty of ways age checking could be decoupled from identity checking, and I find it extremely suspicious that the proponents of these laws aren’t promoting them.

Yeah. I’m a big fan of his, but his social media presence has always had the whiff of “professional social media team” about it.

It would have been so easy for influencewatch to write that in a neutral way, but they couldn’t help themselves from editorializing their very clear opinions into it, almost to the extent that it reads like an industry shill managed to get some edits in.

it’s your choice to live there
I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not because that is an awful argument. The housing market isn’t this perfectly liquid thing where there’s always another house to choose from that fits all your requirements a reasonable distance from your workplace.
An AI trained on Facebook comments would be stupider than an AI trained on nothing at all
