Nice try officer.
Explicate the inexorable, fucker.

Nice try officer.

We’re speaking English and the US is by far the largest demographic for English speakers on BlueSky. The UK is the second closest and represents 5-6x less people. I genuinely wish you luck with how you engage with people in the future.

At the limit though they’d have to pay every coder with an interest in that software’s development and enough time for a hobby. I guess they could target distribution like Codeberg but alternatives would eventually fill their place.

Like a locked bootloader and bloat.

Oh snap, I misread it as Motorola bought GrapheneOS! This is way better news than I realized! Thx for the clarification. 🫡
Edit: On reflection can FOSS even be bought since it doesn’t have an owner to pay? I’m caught up now.

A question isn’t an assumption. It’s possible to hold an idea in one’s head without immediately accepting or rejecting it. I also don’t see any problem with planning ahead. Why are you assuming I’m a dude?

Different tense. I wasn’t using it in the privacy hardened sense.
Just realized it refers to the same thing both ways. GrapheneOS is user-side hardened whereas iOS is producer-side hardened.

See: PinePhone (Ubuntu Touch, postmarketOS) for $149-199 via their intl site: pine64.org.
OR
SF’s Librem 5 (PureOS, plus Ubuntu Touch, postmarketOS) for ~$700 via puri.sm.
Both shippable to the US. They’re unpolished OSs and expect delays, but they do exist. The competition will only increase going forward.

I was wondering if they’d require that new REAL ID versus the older (and cheaper) State ID, but from what I can tell it’ll just involve a user-declared age to preserve privacy. At least initially.

What’s the likelihood that Motorola will eventually lock down GrapheneOS though? Imho it’d be a bad move if they did. The FOSS mobile OS community has matured to the point that we don’t need to rely on for-profit monoliths any more. Motorola would be smart to lead the way to where the mobile device economy will be.

Effective date known yet?

Sure but our representatives should be held to a higher standard.

Mass surveillance for advertising seems marginally more benign than mass surveillance by one’s own government, personally. Though admittedly both are bad.
Edit: I can find alternatives for most of Google’s ecosystem but mapping out accurate bus routes is terrible via OSM/OsmAnd or Organic Maps. Anyone have any tips there?

Interpreted the Betazed as being analogous to bipolar. I interpreted the peaceful vs war schools to be representations of contrasting political parties. There’s so many more options now and short attention spans are being rewarded. Am happy to give the show time to grow its Riker beard.

I liked the series, even though it felt like its own thing. But when I finally got to the Jay-Den focused episode the whole thing immediately gave updated TNG vibes. The adults in the cast are excellent philosophy-heavy mentors and I find myself repeatedly rewinding their scenes to recontextualize their pearls in terms of my own life. If I had one gripe it’d be all the YA aspects, but I immediately retract that as I want the series to also appeal to the yutes. Tawny Newsome is my hero.

I’m jaundiced so I’m never confident whether I’ve left urine in the toilet. Tis a tough life.

The joy of his Colbert Report is finally returning to him.
I don’t like how broad Lemmy assumes default interests are, though then again showing everyone the average interests may statistically be the best initialization point.
Every time I’m shown a community I’m totally uninterested I make sure to go in and block it from my feed. Likewise with aggressive or otherwise pathological users. It gets better.
My two cents is that more users oughta establish new communities when they find the absence of one. Even if they don’t have the time to devote for fully moderating it, as people join the responsibilities can be allocated among the early adopters. Especially those with strong political and moral backgrounds (to mitigate abuses of power like those infamously cultivated at Reddit).
Genomic chauvinism.
