I have already read some excellent suggetions. Here’s some of mine:

The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb (the Lifeship Trilogy is excellent as well)) The Many-Colored Land series by Julian May Imajica by Clive Barker

Don’t bother with the Ice and Fire series by GRR Martin. The first three books are good and the rest is meh. As per the fourth book, an entirely new set of characters and storylines were introduced, without actuallly finishing the story after the first three books. The story will not be finished and that’s a bummer. Life’s too short and there’s too much better stuff out there.

Agreed about it being a special place. That’s why it popped into my head in the first place. But the many bus loads of people being loaded ever day makes it a tourist trap. The higher parts are more tranquil though.

I actually loved Mont St. Michel.

Me and the wife made it a point to choose names with actual meaning for our kids. The youngest certainly lives up to hers. She has a name fit for a warrior and she is a fierce one.

Important? No. I write open source software for a living, but have been partly railroaded into a corporate project that sucks the joy out of work.

Adding to this already great post: the control panel depends on the DE used, rather than the distribution. As modern distros have modern DEs, you are not wrong though.

Vampire Survivors. The premise and gameplay are simple, but it is highly um… replayable.
