That just reminded me of that Office Space scene. Where the dude just wants to do two chicks at the same time if he had a million dollars.

Also, “You don’t need a million dollar to do nothin. Take a look at my cousin. He’s broke and don’t do shit!”

Damn that’s a wild ass story. I just finished reading Michael Connelly’s The Proving Ground which touches on the topic of liability when it AI encourages crimes. I thought the story was a theoretical scenario that could maybe happen in the future. Didn’t realize this shit was already happening - and even more fantastical that the scenario in fiction!

Yeah that’s probably a good way to think of it. She did love Chernobyl - but that might be because it was a modern retelling of a historical event. Same way that people love Stranger Things for the nostalgia, but aren’t exactly going back and rewatching shows filmed in the 80s.

Came here to recommend Mr Robot as well. The ending of the series was perfectly planned, so it loops around perfectly to the beginning of the series. It was a nice contrast to something like Game of Thrones, where they clearly had no good ending planned and just rushed through to get something done.
I remember watching the end of Mr Robot and going “holy shit.”

I watched The Wire for the first time a few months ago. My wife couldn’t get past the first couple episodes since it’s a little dated, but I am glad I stuck with it because that show was freaking phenomenal.

As a registered Republican woman from Texas with five children and two dogs, let me just say that I am astonished!

That was before the 2016 election even!

That guy was super well spoken and had a good message. I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of him before. Always nice to see the Streisand Effect in action!

“It’s important to differentiate between clinical addiction and problematic use,” he added.
“I’m sure I’ve said that I’ve been addicted to a Netflix show when I binged it really late one night, but I don’t think it’s the same thing as clinical addiction.”
Yeah, I dunno what article that dude read. Or didn’t read, apparently.

Turns out, they were just using this meme as their requirements document.

Lol my kids did the same thing. Kinda proud of those lil hooligans.

You supposed be up cookin breakfast for somebody
my neighbors are trekkies and Linux, as a fan of windows and star wars

Made this a couple weeks ago for you
Lol same here. Jesus that whole site is atrocious now.
I remember 2 years ago trying out Lemmy and getting a few laughs about beans and trying not to poop. I thought “this is ok, but I don’t think this will ever replace Reddit in my day to day.”
But I stuck with it and have come to love and appreciate Lemmy. The number of users has continued to grow and I feel like there’s enough content here now that I never feel bored. Plus I feel like even small posts and comments get attention and we’re not just screaming into the void.
So happy cake day to all who did the same thing!
I always appreciate fact checking. Just want to add some context in case people don’t read the article. Marco Rubio did not say that quote. However, he would be impacted by revoking birthright citizenship, which is what MAGA is pushing for.
So I view this more as a leopards ate my face situation. While he didn’t say what the meme quoted him as saying, he is a part of this administration which is pushing to revoke the citizenship of millions of people. He’s likely hoping that they don’t succeed or if they do, they’ll see him as “one of the good ones”.
