I think a lot people crying about 8GB, are (or were) heavy windows users. They expect the os to take 4 of that, chrome to take 3 and only have 1GB left.
In reality any one who wants to game, use the ram for crazy data calculations, or do creative work professionally won’t be looking at the neo for reasons beyond the ram size.
(But yes, the non upgradable part sucks).

The performance of an m1 chips is still impressive for a “budget” laptop, and the built in finger warmer is nice when you leave the metal laptop out in the cold.
It’ll be good for someone, non-technical, who just needs a computer for the simple stuff in life. For a student it’ll be great, and when a class that wants them to edit a video or they need to “Photoshop” something - it will work for that. (Maybe not greatly, but it will work), you can’t say the same for a Chromebook.
The low ram is certainly a bummer and will hold it back, but with a properly optimized OS, it will probably fine for a few years.
The need for a dongle is just part the apple expirence, right? If you don’t want a dongle, go get a usbc to hdmi cable. Quite honestly, I’d love to see HDMI die out and be replaced with USBC, its a smaller connector and a good USBC cable can be used for other things too. Also if you’re hooking up a second display, chances are its a stationary setup and only having to plug in the 1 dongle for your “desk” is very helpful.

Yes, give it a robot arm to remove the cone. Or hire transformers for the job.

I’m pretty certain, but could be remembering wrong, they paused development when YouTube/Google was going nuts breaking adblock, which broke the extension. The dev eventually removed their adblock and made everything else work.

It still is for the creators there. Instead of browsing the algorithm I start on the subscriptions page, to only see uploads from people I actually want to.
There’s sometimes complaints about “I thought you were dead” when the channel has been uploading regularly the entire time. People just never got recommended the videos despite hitting all the buttons.
For example, did you know both Physics Girl and Tom Scott have returned this month - hopefully a sign that the world can still heal.
Ublock origin - beyond the addblocking, I use the picker tool to filter all the extra sections like “news”, “trending” “you might like” etc.
Unhook - toggles to disable a bunch of features like comments, home screen, end screen etc.
Enhancer for Youtube - Themeing and a bunch of extra settings like setting defaults for each video. speed, volume, resolution, fill screen (which is different than full screen), PIP while you scroll comments. (The author just did a rework, so it can be a little bugged sometimes - reinstalling it fixed it for me last time it went wonky.

“Congratulations, you’re everything we’ve come to expect from years of government training.”

the same budget
How much did this it cost to collect all this data?
What cost? The data collectors paid us!

You can still list it, you’ll probably find someone who likes them better “broken in”.

Ah, I wasn’t up to date with the flint 3 issues. From what I gather, they are using some Qualcomm chip that makes life harder.
If you are looking to reflash, it seems flint 2 is defiantly the way to go.
From your original post, it seemed you were looking for more frequent updates, which is why I suggested the newer 3e.
As for technical differences, 3e has WiFi 7. Beside that, quickly skimming the specs pages, I don’t see any other big differences. Is that worthwhile? Probably not.
I wonder if the upcoming flint 4 will have the same Qualcomm chip, or if they do something different. I also worry they are releasing more products than they can sustain long term.

I have a few of their routers, they work well. They’re not quark free, but nothing is. I like what they stand for, using openwrt as a base and making it easy for stuff like VPN and adblock to be setup.
As for firmware updates, the flint 2 has been out a while (2023), so updates seem to have slowed down. https://dl.gl-inet.com/router/mt6000/stable
If you can afford it, I’d recommend the flint 3e for $170. That was released last year. https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-be6500/
If you do get the flint 2, I personally would not expect any groundbreaking updates, although the latest beta notes does at least add a feature.
That is followed a big asterisk, if you choose to flash your own openwrt, firmware updates will be your own problem to figure out.
(BTW, you can access the openwrt panel through GL’s default front end, it’s up to you what you do with that note.)

Keep the toilet out of your line of sight when you’re in bed, that’s just bad vibes.
For airflow, open during the day and closed at night. It should have an exhaust fan, try to make sure smelly air is getting sent anywhere but your bedroom.

They were also the first OEM to support steam deck on their handheld (beside Valve).

Lad, I think you’ve connected to the internet from a different timeline. We call it shitbook over here.

The Oshkosh NGDV looks promising, there’s also the Rivian EDV.

Word pad had too many features, people could use that instead of word.

Some pillows can be thrown in the dryer for 10-15 min. That can bring extra life into them.
