The issue is, car makers killed the wagon. Literally the best “american” family road trip type vehicle, and you literally cannot buy one.

I do have a truck myself. Only used for work. 8 ft bed. No ac or radio. A real work truck, not some fluffy bullshit Cadillac mom truck. And, my “truck” is still smaller than any of those pavement queens.

Montana does this actually. Cars can do 60 for example, semis must go 50. Granted its not divided up for bro trucks and huge SUVs like it should be. Every state should. And speed limits slow down at night!

Most people in the US hate each other and their children, so they need a huge house and a huge car to be “with” them while also staying as far apart as possible.

I do admit my house is huge by most standards but I run a basement studio/jam space out of it. My hobbies take up a lot of space…music recording, retro gaming etc

I feel very similar. Trying to get all old console games before they all get taken town , Minerva’s archive is already gone. I’m sure v1m is next.

I wish i know more how to get into data hoarder groups to share data. But how to make them trust you? That parts hard. I guarantee there’s lemmings out there with 50 tb nas full of every game known to humans.

They want to take it all away from us to charge us a subscription to play 30 year old games and enjoy any media. And when they kill search and websites, the only "internet " that will be available will be an llm chatbot search, at $50 a month for 100 prompts of course. 10 additional dollars per prompt.

And since llms killed any entry and junior coders, there will be no one left learning coding or anything to bypass this. As the old knowledgeable ones die off, the youngs will have outsourced all thinking to the gibbity. And you will own nothing.

I feel the same. Same with backups. I have like 15 hard drives. Its so hard to do it all. Especially with ADHD and insane hard drive prices now.

Sadly radio reallllllly sucks now for the most part. Some late night DJs are cool and play interesting stuff but otherwise it’s junk.

Same thing with big cities. More people = more assholes and crime, and more expensive. More people moving into my town is destroying all the land (ripping out forests for row after row of shit apartments) all built by the same company. More crime now because of more people coming in.
