That’s crazy. I’m gonna have to find a self-hosted paywall hopper. 🙄

It…what??

I mean at least the cars thing is pretty legitimately true. Not that you don’t have a broader point.

Age verification is identity verification.

Who ever wrote that headline was a sucker

I’m also thinking like…snow-blowers are kinda dangerous. How does it know it’s not about to chew through your limb or pet? Does it just charge through whatever? If it doesn’t do that, then does it get stuck randomly thinking it’s trying to keep you safe but actually there’s just snow in its way.

Edit: don’t see the problem anymore.

There are a lot more problems in trying to create the infrastructure to enforce sanctioned uses of any readily accessible technology than there is in the use of said tool. The people who want to do the most harm inevitability wind up in the oversight position, while society tends to create enforcement mechanisms at a social, interpersonal level organically already.

I think it’s going to require a change in how models are built and optimized. Software engineering requires models that can do more than just generate code.
You mean to tell me that language models aren’t intelligent? But that would mean all these people cramming LLMs in places where intelligence is needed are wasting their time?? Who knew?
Me.
You couldn’t pay me to drive one.
