It’s been well documented that with modern cars you can hack them and disable brakes, increase acceleration etc. I’m not claiming that 100% happened here, but it would be foolish to deny that parts of the government wouldn’t know how to do these things.

I also wish I could just tell my ISP " I don’t have kids and have never once had anyone younger than 18 even connect to my wifi" and then they could just mark it to bypass these age checks.

There are already users of these though? Meshtastic has plenty of nodes in the US afaik and is perfectly useable. It uses long range radios for communication so you only need a few people in a state to do it for it to work.

ICE has literally started going door to door in Minnesota looking for immigrants and activists. It’s already starting, people need to be protecting their privacy now.
