Break a leg! :-)

I bet that was fantastic … the film version that stars him is my favourite :-)

I think Wicked is my favourite, saw it in London a looong time ago. I still listen to the soundtrack sometimes, and still get goosebumps at “Defying Gravity” :-)

It’s fun and funny, but IMO not that funny … probably hits different for people who know lots of Mormons personally (my sister used to live in SLC and she rates it much higher)

Two come to mjnd:
Star Trek 2 - The Wrath of Khan.
Spock gives his life to save his friends, willingly and without pause. And his best friend has to say goodbye to him.
Of course, the first time I saw it I didn’t know what was coming next, so to me it was final, and devastating.
It prepared me well for things that happened IRL later on.
Secondly, because I don’t want to be 100% on a downer, the finale of Labyrinth. “You have no power over me” nudged me towards the idea that many people who profess to be in charge of you only have that power because they say they do. And you can take that back for yourself.

The final scene of Threads really fucked me up, I already had birth trauma and that scene gave me proper wake-up-screaming nightmares for months.

It also touched on the systemic oppression of the modern world, and showed how most people just go along with it … I was a young adult when it came out and that really shook up my word view.

Yes. Yes you can.
Thank you for the tip :-)

Yup, one of the reasons Black Lagoon is now one of my favourite animés is that it neither involves school nor a magical alternative universe. It does revolve around a salaryman though … can’t win them all I guess :-/

Indeed, one of the reasons Love Lies Bleeding is my favourite movie is because it’s a romance between two people who are actually grown up (if not mature), they aren’t star-crossed lovers, and they both already know what they like in bed

Not any more, for shame! (I don’t work for a government any more, it just says that for some reason)

Get yourself some HRT, that’ll fix you right up (if you want).
Source: menopausal, still horny. Enjoying it a LOT.

My security clearance certificate has me listed as a Government Agent.

Yup, as a British immigrant to Spain there is precisely 1 other British person who lives here that I talk to … most I’ve met have zero interest in the language, culture, or people outside of touristy things.
Meanwhile, I’m working in Vietnam at the moment, and my Spanish coworker’s who came with me have the same attitude towards Vietnam.
So, I think most people just aren’t interested in the realities of different lived experiences of others. Sometimes in conversation I’ll dangle a lure for someone to ask me about an atypical part of my life, and 9 times out of 10 they show no curiosity.

Well, it doesn’t need signals or crossings because people can cross freely (unlike the US), the traffic speed is lower, and drivers know to look for pedestrians, cyclists and scooters … but Vietnam does lack decent public transport.
The flipside is that no part of the older cities is set up for public transport (hell, lots of houses are only accessible on foot or by scooter) and there’s little money for putting in infrastructure that can’t also help move freight - during rush hour that 10 lane road is 7 lanes of trucks and 3 of scooters.

It’s bizarre to me that some people don’t want to put any effort into their personal safety, regardless of the cause of potential danger.
I’ve got used to crossing 10 lanes of traffic, at night, with no street lights or marked crossings, because I’m working in Vietnam and that’s just how it is in one particular spot. It’s my responsibility to navigate that safely, and part of that is making sure I’m visible.

Ok, well I hope that works for you, then!

Sorry to hear that, I hope you find your way to a better place!
I think some people literally skip this phase of teenage, or they just skim the surface … and because many humans lack empathy, they assume anyone who says otherwise is being over dramatic or is mentally unstable
