I really want everyone to use the metric system. Imperial is just awful to use for most design and machine purposes.

This. NTFS is still the gold standard for stability. ReFS is meant for data ops, and while it’s fairly stable, and offers a lot of advantages, it’s not perfect and can suffer greatly if used incorrectly. Until the quirks are gone, users are probably better off with NTFS for a lot of reasons.

A bill

My kids used to call the play place with all of the inflatable bounce houses “the bouncy store”.
My eldest couldn’t remember the name for bagpipes and called them “autotuned hornbags” which is one of my favorites, and I still use it.
In relation to mario kart, we had no idea what the superhorn was called, we always called in “The Honkerbanger”. Likewise we didn’t understand what the drafting sprites were in MK on the wii, it looked like the person in front of you was sweating big droplets of water. We’d say we were “getting sweat”.

On a similar note I’ll mention Dendrocnide moroides better known as the gympie gympie tree.

SOMA is the bomb. I came here to post this.

We finally had to break down and accept a smart TV as our last purchase. I didn’t want anything like that on my network. It never gets updates, it never talks to home, it never asks me to agree to anything. The way a display should be.
I do have a few IOT monitors, but they are relegated to the banishment VLAN and are unaware there is anything else on network in the house.
For those who want an dumb TV, you want to shop for a commercial signage display. It’s what a TV should be.
Projectors are also a good option if you want a huge picture with a simple display.

Ha, yeah. Snap-On sells a 400$ tool that takes 30$ consumable rubber wheels. Or you could use a 99 cent pink pencil eraser.

A good rubber eraser also takes sticker adhesive right off of most surfaces, safely.

Yeah they are, I noticed it get really, really bad this week. It’s an awful experience. But they’ll leave my browser before my adblocker does.
Every single one of my machines is set up to run metric so I don’t have to constantly convert 64’s and 8’s and thou’s fractional units between denominators, which is exactly why I’d rather type .0254mm than 1/1000. I absolutely cannot stand using different fractional denominators or that a foot is divided by 12, but everything else isn’t. You’ve probably used it for years and are used to it, but approaching it with a rational mind seems like unnecessary work and risk of miscalculation.
Every number I use can easily be interchanged for another unit.
