1. A great villain.
2. An interesting cast with unique personalities, perspectives and ideals.
3. Smart or otherwise competent characters. I hate idiot plots.
4. Cool fights (less important, but can be the icing on top of the cake).

A movie doesn’t need all four factors for me to enjoy it, but nearly every movie I’ve enjoyed nails at least one of them. Some examples in no particular order:

2. The Matrix
3. The Dark Knight
4. 12 Angry Men
5. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
6. Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2

May I ask why that is? Could it just be that therapy wasn’t sufficient and your situation requires medication in order to be properly remedied?

Having extremely high neuroticism/emotionality can be a pain in the ass. I actually only have high levels of anxiety according to the HEXACO personality inventory, but I still deal with mental health issues because of that. From your description it seems like you probably score high on all the facets and that sounds miserable.

I downloaded that video and every now and then I listen to it again while doing the dishes. I love all of Hbomb’s essays honestly, I’m not sure how to describe it, but his style makes them very entertaining to watch/listen.
