I can be controversial or annoying because I always require proof and facts for whatever people are saying/claiming. This has gotten me into a lot of heated debates, even got myself banned from “YouShouldKnow” for saying I need more proof of Israeli’s genocide (that was long ago, got more proof and changed my mind). If I do not agree on some subjectively obvious topic, please do not assume I’m being unfriendly, evil or a troll. I do try my best to approach any subject with neutral and open mind. Just call me autistic with OCD

Isn’t Mikrotik commonly used for servers? Or is that just Europe?

Why fire, berries fine

Something I don’t understand - AI coding is mostly useful in common code, snippets, easy stuff. What Nvidia is doing (drivers, optimization, chip design, etc.) is something I imagine there is close to zero AI training, so what can they realistically even use it for so much?

People sometimes underestimate the processing power required for high resolution, high quality videos. There is quite a simple reason why pretty much no dashcams or IP cams, unless expensive, are giving you iPhone footage.
I’ve seen people using GoPros, they’re quite cheap and good, but tend to get quite hot (for reasons stated above)

Finally, AI investments paying off

Lol no, that is entirely different category, those are essentially limited edition engineering pieces. The consumer one is Ananda unveiled, which in my local shop goes for €460.

I get what you’re saying, but there are basically only 3 companies whose headphones are worth 300-600€. Said companies took decades, mountain of innovations and patents to get where they are now.
If you can actually get that kind of immersion and quality cheaper - I’m all ears. Literally

Not necessarily. For headphones it can go higher. I’m currently looking at hifiman unveiled.

This is a wild finding. People reading a text can change their opinion on things? Can we, like, invent written pages that do this? We can even call them books or blogs. Doesn’t matter who writes them or how wrong the text can be, but it’s clear people can read and change their opinions

He’s ex blizzard dev who opened his own indie studio

Imagine spending 10 years to build a server in space to avoid some law and next month government changes the law

But your (one of) solution is to kill half of the voting system to solve half of the vote manipulation. It’s like solving spam by turning off comments. I don’t think that is going to be a popular opinion

Vote manipulation is done in both directions

It’s literally how what you see is regulated. If a company X wanted to hide products from company Y, they could make bots to auto-downvote Y products and upvotes X products.
Granted, I feel like more commonly vote manipulation is done for geopolitical reasons rather than astroturfing

This is not the answer you’re looking for, but I remember watching Green Mile as a child and that movie struck with me for life, and likely attributed early on to me being one of the few non-racist folks around here somewhere in East Europe

Can’t they just gamble for some ram?
Disney or sora really wasn’t that big of a deal in AI (due to alternatives). OpenAI is probably right to shift focus to coding. Disney is probably still going to go after AI, just different company.
