I would jump into this entire discussion with a general question of my own - being bi or gay - is it related to sexual attraction, emotional attraction, or both? For ex. A person of one sex, can find the person of the opposite sex attractive in a sexual way, but could never imagine an emotional bond with the opposite sex.
I would assume it has only to do with sexual attraction, but reading comments… seems blurry.
According to Wikipedia, they basically have no representative nowhere… I would rather vote for a more established party which actually has the power do influence the decision. Surely there must be one mainstream party that has the same stance.
Pardon my ignorance, but physical cards are tap-to-pay since it exists, no smartphone needed, and as a bonus, you don’t need to think about your battery dying before you need to buy something. It’s a problem of extreme convenience, not something you depend on in any way. An alternative could also be a smartwatch, which you can set up tap-to-pay on, so you can have a custom ROM on your smartphone and pay with your wrist.
Take your time to organize your tasks, then prioritize them. The decide what has actually such a low priority, that its fine if it doesn’t get done. Then, check how to split the task on time (not full 24/7, but actual work time) and see if it is realistic. If not, you need to communicate that you can’t realistically get it done in that time, and that you need to extend the time to get it done or delegate it to someone else.
Anything else would be unprofessional and not really helping the situation.
Can we prevent this on the EU level? It really is just killing independent competition.

I hope this will popularize the ROM community again. It gradually faded out due to mainstream ROMs having every perk of the custom ROMs but now the custom ROMs can start offering freedom, which no official ROM will offer.
And also, there’s the platform bias. The fact that you are on Lemmy here and not on Reddit asking this, also gives a lot of information what your opinions are, and by that you already share a lot in common with most people here. Sharing a lot in common also means less things to argue about.
What levels of diversity are you expecting? I am here exactly to avoid the extreme polar opposite diversity many mainstream platforms offer. I see people agreeing and disagreeing but they are still having some common ground which enables the disagreement to look civil. Considering the mainstream social media this can look like a lack of diversity, but it’s actually how it is supposed to be in a civilized world…

I seriously don’t understand how anyone would expect any other outcome. It has a goal - to win, or not to lose. What is the logical way to have the highest probability of winning? Use strongest weapon. You wouldn’t expect it to tell you how to build a rain catchment and filter system when you tell it your thirsty.
But so you can decide for others what you want to censor for them on your instance. Because I can name a few things that you would probably want ASAP removed from your instance, if someone posted such things.

Just don’t read news. News push negative narrative because it creates strong emotional reactions and people engaged. Problem is even here on Lemmy, people share and discuss these toxic news instead of writing their own view of it that is more modest and objective.

All people have that in them, just “life” gets in the way. The things you probably want are not necessary, but additional. And most people have already so much stuff to do, and going on in their lives, they just try to keep the work and burden to the minimum. And by going that way, you would either need to carry more burden, or let something else fall down.
Cost and ease of maintenance. Isn’t it obvious? The only ugly thing is instead of having separated multuple conductors without isolation on the wire, you can have isolated wires, and twisted together, so instead of 50 wires throughout the air, you would have one thicker.
Not monotonous but non-creative. Any machine can do non-crative work. No machine can do creative work. You don’t need creativity to farm food, you do need creativity to invent new medicine.
In an average company that isn’t scaled worldwide, usually the cost of labour is 40-50% (paying wages). This means if we replace humans with robots, doing repetitive and non-creative work, we can make stuff cheaper by a lot. OFC unless the company boss, who is then left alone with all the profits, just decides to keep the prices with no people he needs to pay anymore.
So, basically instead of having one huge gatekeeper, we now have many smaller ones.
