Don’t think I’ve ever seen a company with shittier products better at tricking the gullible into buying them.

Anything you can do on a Mac/iPhone you can do on a PC/Android for half the price. Windows is a much more compatible and intuitive OS. And so is Android.

Source: I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years. I’ve worked with a ton of other techs. They all hated Apple. I actually just got done working on a Mac that our media department brought me because they were also tricked by advertising into thinking you need a Mac to do media stuff. It was a nightmare and my hatred for Apple has only increased.

P.S. Please don’t bother telling me how Linux is superior to Windows. I know Lemmy likes Linux. I don’t care. It’s not as compatible as Windows and not suitable for a work environment. I have my problems with Microsoft. This comment is about hating Apple more.

It would have been the 3rd party app thing, but I exclusively use Reddit on my desktop at work. I got better things to do on weekends.

I’m entirely capable of circumventing Reddit bans and I’m probably on my 50th+ account by now. I spend most of my time here, but I still have a Reddit account for various reasons. If they finally nuke old.reddit I will at long last peace out for good and never look back. Every time I log in I expect it’ll be gone. Reddit excels at making awful decisions regarding their platform.

I literally just got suspended 15 minutes ago for promoting violence for pointing out that America is going to see a rise in terrorism going forward for our actions in the middle east.

I know how to circumvent Reddit’s methods for keeping me out, so I’m already back in with a new account. I have a browser script that re-adds all my subs for me. And I know I’m not shadowbanned cuz I know how to check that. This’ll probably be my 50-70th Reddit account in the last decade. Which means Reddit has been trying and failing to keep me off their platform for a decade. I don’t even care that it’s just a 3 day suspension. I’m not going to be silenced for 3 days.

Because being an adult in the U.S. sucks. Many people work right out of high school until they retire/die without ever going on a real vacation.

Personally, I’m experiencing the opposite as far as activity. I joined about 1.5 years ago and there’s definitely been a noticable increase in activity in that time. I’m seeing more upvotes and comments than when I joined.

How long would you be willing to entertain Nazis? Would you say the same thing about them? That we should just listen to them and give them a chance? That we should tolerate them? Now, American conservatives aren’t Nazis, because Naziism was a specific fascist movement in Germany a century ago. But American conservatives are fascists because they match the definition.

Now, I’m not sure if you possess eyes or ears, but fascism is now here, in America, due to conservatives. I’m done giving them the benefit of the doubt. They do not deserve it. They do not care to argue in good faith.

It’s 2026. There is no such thing as a moderate conservative. They don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. They don’t deserve yet another platform to argue in bad faith on. They’ve gone too far. Every platform they touch turns into a cesspool of bigotry and garbage opinions they think should be taken seriously or they play victim.

Is it important? Important enough for me to be considered vital and not get to work from home during the pandemic.
