Doesn’t that require trust in the provider hosting the off chain transactions? And lightning transactions can get preempted by conflicting moves from a wallet, and invalidated? I’m no expert, but it seems like these big regular transactions would be targets for abuse.

So you know in movies, where the good guys discover a tracker and they smash it, and you think they’re stupid dumbasses for not putting the tracker somewhere else and playing the bad guys. Well we all have trackers now as we carry around our phones. We know the government has access to this data. But it actually makes us more able to commit crimes undetected - just leave your phone at home ffs, or ‘accidentally’ leave it in your husband’s car for the day.

Vibe coding has its place (prototypes, simple webui), and use of ai for debugging, adding simple features can be effective. Even for more complex stuff it’s getting better all the time; but one needs to keep an eye on what it’s doing and refactor when things go off the rails (and ai can be a good tool for refactoring).
But ai messages that just make it look like someone is contributing are infuriating. I’ve responded by booking a meeting with the person who pasted ai slop to review the message because ‘I want you to go over that and explain it to us’. And then when they try and start going over irrelevant crap I ask why it’s relevant. And when they respond that actually it’s from chatgpt and they don’t know, if they don’t immediately indicate how they realize now it was useless to paste stuff like that, I make sure they know my opinion (in a nice way). I haven’t had the same person do it twice.
When we’re talking science, if you have a certain flavour of adhd which makes you less intelligent, it still makes you less intelligent. Nothing to be ashamed of, and of course the ways they define and test for intelligence are often questionable. But worrying about offending people or making test score equitable goes against the principles of objective science.
I’d be more worried about them coming back down on pedestrians.
