If you put enough energy in one place it will cause a black hole. This type of black hole is called a Kugelblitz.
Current graphics cards do not yet use enough energy to worry about a kugelblitz occurring in the 12-pin connector.

Except empathy. You can still decide to keep people as slaves when it benefits you and you don’t have empathy.

Australia almost did this right with the National Broadband Network.
Unfortunately, it was then sabotaged by the government after an election changed the majority party.
It seems to be back on track after wasting an extraordinary amount of time and money by installing copper lines, just to completely replace them with the fiber lines that were in the original plan.

Are they going to sue to operating system owners next? What about the web browser that offers the steam installer download?

It sounds like a faulty device to me. I recommend reaching out to customer support at a minimum.

I didn’t know you could use different launchers until a few weeks ago. I’m so much happier with Lawnchair.

Yes, microG is on /e/OS by default. I believe my bank uses some of the security features from Play Services that aren’t in microG.
I’m not 100% sure that it can’t be fixed, but it’s such a minor nuisance that I don’t think it’s worth my time to investigate.

Fairphone 6
My bank app will install, but I can’t login unless I also install Google Play Services. The website works fine without.
No issues with other apps. I do prioritise installing from F-Droid whenever possible.

Most EVs have a comparable weight to ICE cars, maybe slightly higher. Modern cars have been getting much bigger and much heavier overall (thanks America), so the EV battery weight barely makes a difference in comparison.
An EV is still better overall than a combustion car, and no car is still better than an EV.
Personally, I’d like to see everyone driving their own trams everywhere. No tire particulates at all. Ignoring all possible downsides, it’s the best option out there.

I stayed a week to get the cheapest flights available.
Upon returning, I realised I’d made a mistake. The last week had been the happiest week of my life, and I didn’t want to leave them.
Just after returning home, my state closed all borders to incoming travelers. If I were to go back, it would be a one way trip.
I found a hire car, packed all my belongings in it, said goodbye to my family, and started the long drive to move in.
6 months later, I was trying to decide if I wanted to get married or not. I tried to compare the two options as extremes: living with them every day for the rest of my life with no breaks, or never speaking to them again. I couldn’t find the slightest issue with the former, and the latter terrified me.
I proposed. They were very surprised. After several minutes of me confirming that this was not a joke, they got excited and said yes.
Neither of us wanted a big wedding. With family scattered over 1000km, Covid restrictions provided a good excuse. We got married with just the celebrant and 2 witnesses.
My mother correctly understood the scale of the wedding when preparing the wedding cake, and made us a 2-tiered wedding muffin.

I took a bus for 3 hours to visit a friend, they drove 9 hours to visit the same friend. I thought it was unfair for them to drive back on their own so I offered to share the drive.
I still don’t know why they accepted. I also didn’t have a plan to get home from their house. I guess it didn’t matter because we’re married now.

You can’t get a refund if you’ve been paying a subscription for a missing product.

Things you should know: Your car won’t drive after it’s broken down.

Have you seen typst? It looks to be similar to LaTeX, but based on markdown.

I can only assume that message is because the FP 5 is not compatible with VoIP (not strictly related to the 3G cutoff). If so, that means it is actually unable to call emergency services, and is therefore unable to be used safely in Australia.
The emergency services in Australia have recently switched to VoIP only, and want to eliminate the risk of someone using a non VoIP capable phone as their only phone. This appears to be a general safety issue, not specifically targeted at Fairphone.
The FP 6 does support VoIP, so it should have no issues.

I have a fairphone 6 in Australia with no issues.
Can you elaborate?

Zulip is great for text based communities, but doesn’t have built in voice or video.

EGPWS - stops airliners accidentally flying into mountains.
Home Assistant - full control over your smart devices, internet optional.
Sierra Leone hospital - their first hospital that has a neonatal unit, already drastically reducing the maternal mortality rate.
PMSM - electric motor that can exceed 95% efficiency.
Proton - allows almost any game to run on Linux.
3D printing - much cheaper rapid prototyping and custom parts. Even used on the ISS.
The square app will not run on a phone that has developer mode enabled. I turned developer mode on to disable annoying animations, so now I can’t take card payments unless I carry around a second phone.
If Google goes through with this, my payment phone won’t be able to run any third party apps.
