I don’t understand French.
I really would like to read Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du mal. I was inspired by the Japanese manga with the same title, which in turn often references Baudelaire’s work.
I do understand English, Japanese, Hungarian and Swedish. I wonder which translation of Les Fleurs du mal you would recommend.
There was a lovely volume I had that was an English translation where every facing page the left was French and the right was English, lent it out, never to return, sigh. Learnt most of my poor grasp of French from it. If anyone knows I would highly appreciate the details…
I saved your comment so that I can get back to you. The one I just ordered at my library might just be it. It say, “full French text” with translation of Richard Howard + illustrations.
Thank you kindly.
Bojlereladó!

Túlságosan hozzászoktunk a központi fűtéshez. Szegény bojlerek…
There a lot to choose from! I haven’t read this translation myself but I know people who have and say its very good - the Richard Howard edition: https://www.tfobooks.com/book/9781567928273
Thank you very much! I’ll keep this one in mind as I peruse my local library.
They ordered it for me from a library on the other side of the country. I’m HYPED.
