The Federal Communications Commission has released a notice today designating any consumer routers manufactured outside the US as a security risk.

    Based on the regulation as written, approval is granted only if the company:

    • Fully reveals their entire supply chain
    • All business relationships and contracts
    • Justifies why they aren’t producing in the US
    • And provides a detailed step-by-step plan with a fixed schedule for moving production to the US
    • Which is then monitored by the government
