Didn’t some games in the DOS era use a lot of base memory? Like to the point that after RAM was a thing there wasn’t enough base memory to run them. I seem to recall trying to run Elite (Frontier 2) and on a computer with Win95 or maybe 98 and it said there wasn’t enough memory.

There were even old programs like doublespsce that would free up some base memory for more memory intensive games

I honestly stopped believing in the idea of morning or evening people. Whatever schedule you hold you body to, it tends to be okay with it as long as you’re consistent.

You can definitely train your body to do whatever. I had a job that I needed to wake up at about 5:45 for, and it was no real issue because I just started going to bed at like 10 every day.

But when I have long breaks I start naturally gravitating toward sleeping and getting up later, and that’s what I think people mean when they say morning/night people. In college I had a schedule once where I didn’t have any morning classes, and I started sleeping from about 5 AM to noon.

Nice, Beyond Sunset kinda reminds me of Neon Overdrive, which came out last year. I wonder if NO took aesthetic inspiration from the BS setting. I haven’t played through a ton of the total conversion wads but it’s always impressive what people manage to do with the (tweaked) Build engine. Are those two standouts for you? Looks like Ashes got a cacoward runner up in 2018. I had a lot of fun recently with one called Impping, which is a slaughter wad where the enemies are mostly imps and your ammo is mostly rockets.

I’ve been playing a lot of Doom recently and I used to run that on an old 486. People just kept on making free wads for that for like 35 years.

You don’t have to use google translate (there are 2 other services included), and TWP doesn’t reload the page when you toggle the translate function off and on like the built in one did.

When I turned it off the translation thingy went away, so I’m not sure if it was AI all along and they were lying about it or not. Just as well, there’s an extension that works fine and it doesn’t reload the page every time I toggled it like the built in one did.
