I love it being smaller. I actually read people’s usernames here because there is a non zero chance I run across them again in the future and that makes me happy :3
My best friend and I travel really well together. We have a vague idea of the kinds of things we want to do and we figure it out while there. One time we were in a country with few English speakers, our housing cancelled on us, we were like fuck it let’s still take the train to the next city we’ll figure out housing on the way. The shit we get up to, problems we solve on our feet, these things help show how a place can actually be not how some tour agency pretends it is. I much prefer that

Undeniably better in every way but it does bother me one pic is more saturated so it pops more

Oh good. I’ve been working on a setting for some-odd 16 years now. One of the earliest concepts in it is how the galaxy is run by an AI that subtly alters interstellar communications to influence things at scale without being discovered. Love that one of my existential fears of the future gets a shot at playing out irl

I’m not seeing anything related to this do you have a source somewhere I can read up about it? I’ve always used “doohickey” in this way and I’m wondering if it’s related

This is exactly how hyper specific regional dialects get those extra weird words that’re like how TF did this small town all start saying this word

I used to bike this area all the time, this section is one way yeah

This is in downtown Seattle. The bike lanes generally have green where they overlap with traffic but are unpainted otherwise. They’re also rather faded and blend in extra depending on the weather. Not the most amazing but they do try and differentiate with color. Here’s what I mean from just a few meters away from ops image:

Better than nothing but Seattle bike lanes still put you at major risk of getting doored. This one in particular is right after coming down a relatively clear hill and suddenly there’s people getting in and out of cars

I have to use Windows 11 for my school computer, not allowed to change the OS. I didn’t realize how shit awful explorer had gotten between 10 and 11. For anyone reading this who has to use 11: there are explorer alternatives. I use OneCommander and it let me change the default explorer for shortcuts and when other programs bring things up like with “show in folder” options. I don’t have to use windows explorer anymore and while it’s no Linux at least it doesn’t have fucking copilot and it gives me back basic control

A few years back a friend and I were walking around. They slapped the hood of a car that was in the crosswalk. The driver pulled a gun out and started following us through oncoming traffic to yell at and threaten us it was fucking nuts
I don’t have pants pockets but my purse is to the left. I made it myself so I have a perfectly sized pocket for my phone towards the front, wallet in the middle, keys further back. Random whatever else goes in the main compartment
