A year ago I learned that in my state most motorcycle crashes are single party (meaning there was no other vehicle/pedestrian involved), and of those, most motorcyclists were under the influence (drunk or drowsy). Still the most dangerous mode of transportation any way you cut it, but that particular mode of transportation happens to be really attractive to knobheads, just being a responsible rider will improve your odds on the road by leaps and bounds.

Whenever someone I talk to is surprised by the behavior of cops, I always remind them to think back to highschool and remember the kids that claimed “I’m gonna be a cop”, and how they thought of those kids. That’s why ACAB, it’s a profession that attracts the wrong folk, and even when it does pull in decent people they either get pushed out or become one of them to get by.

I can think of at least a few cartoons that have women/girls be the subject of slapstick comedy. Ed, Edd, & Eddy has a bunch. In Phineas & Ferb Candace has her shit rocked pretty frequently

It’s honestly kinda cool the ouroboros-like influence between Les Claypool and Geddy Lee. Les has always credited Rush as a huge influence, but then Geddy’s playing has also gotten progressively slappy-er over the years just from hanging out with Primus

My parents got me started on basic stuff like scrambling eggs, boiling pasta, and following basic recipes, but everything past that was basically self taught. Both my parents can cook just fine, but as time went on they did it less and less often, so by the time I was in highschool I made most of my own meals, not usually anything too fancy but I never relied on the microwave at least.
I’ve been using YouTube as a resource more and more the last few years. Helps a lot to figure out the stuff that my parents didn’t teach or that I couldn’t easily trial and error. Firstly, it’s nice seeing someone else do it and secondly as blogger-type recipes grow more and more long-winded it’s honestly not much of a time difference

Cold startup. Oil temps don’t instantly drop the second the engine shuts off. The only real additional wear is on the starter, flywheel, and battery, but then every auto start system I’ve heard of is overbuilt specifically to deal with that.
Also, during auto stop, the catalytic converter cools down a bit, so emissions go up.
The car’s not emitting at all when it’s stopped. Any emissions prevented by idling to keep the cat hot are dwarfed by what was emited to…do nothing except keep the cat hot. It’s like spending $5 to save $1.
